Turning Conversations into Conversions: A Gospel Workshop Making Waves

In a fresh effort to inspire and equip local churches to fulfill the Great Commission, The Gideons International has introduced a powerful new training initiative: Conversations: A Simple Approach to Sharing the Gospel. This free workshop is designed to help believers discover the simplicity of the Gospel message and gain the confidence to share their faith in everyday life.

The workshop, which can be customized to suit various settings—from small groups to entire congregations—is already making an impact across North Carolina.

“Since we’ve done the workshop, we have seen a lot more participation in outreach events and our people are more confident in sharing the Gospel,” said Pastor Justin of El Bethel Baptist Church.

With a clear biblical mandate from Mark 16:15, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature,” the Conversations workshop takes a practical, step-by-step approach to evangelism. Participants journey through five key topics:

  1. What is the Gospel? – Clarifying the core message in a world filled with confusion.
  2. Why Share the Gospel? – Rekindling urgency and purpose in personal witness.
  3. Basics of Sharing the Gospel – Learning the L.E.A.P. method and handling common concerns.
  4. Tools and Resources – Equipping participants with conversation-based aids for Gospel sharing.
  5. Call to Commitment – Challenging believers to live on mission daily.

Led by commissioned Gideon instructors, the 2.5—to 3-hour workshop is completely free and has minimal printing costs for materials. It’s open to all age groups—from students to senior adults—and flexible enough to be integrated into Sunday school classes, ministry teams, or special church-wide events. Ideally, each session includes 25 or fewer attendees to foster interaction and personalized engagement.

“We’ve baptized more people in half a year than we’ve ever done in a year before,” reported Pastor Lancaster. “My people have gone berserk. I don’t know what I’m going to do with them.”

Those interested in bringing Conversations to their church can contact their local Gideons or reach out directly to a member of North Carolina’s Educational Unit:

“Thank you so much for coming here to help us be more confident in sharing the Gospel,” said Pastor Robert of Skyland First Baptist Church.

In a time when the good news is needed more than ever, Conversations offers churches a timely, Spirit-led opportunity to turn passive believers into passionate soul-winners—one conversation at a time.
